Brief History of Eastern Railway High School, Kanchrapara

Railway Mixed Primary (RMP) School, Kanchrapara, was established in 1950 with the aim of providing holistic education to the children of railway employees. Popularly known as RMP School, it began its journey under the able leadership of its founding headmistress, Mrs. Krishna Lal, who served from 1950 to 1983. Following her tenure, the school was guided by Miss Uma Sengupta (1983–1988), Mrs. Shanta Bhadra (1988–2002), and Mrs. Sudipta Mondal (2002–2020). Since 2021, Mr. Abdur Rakib Mallick has been leading the institution as the headmaster, supported by a dedicated team of 9 teachers. Over the decades, RMP School/KPA has earned immense respect as a premier educational institution in the locality. Recently, the school underwent a significant transformation as the railway authorities upgraded it to the secondary level. Starting in 2025, the institution will officially be known as Eastern Railway High School, Kanchrapara. The upgraded school will cater to students from LKG to Class X, and a new school building is planned to be
constructed to accommodate this expansion. This institution has been the foundation for many students who have excelled in various fields in India and abroad. Some of the notable alumni include:
